Our roof-cleaning approach uses manual moss removal followed by a specialist biocide treatment. These are different parts of the job: removing bulky growth changes the appearance of the roof, while the treatment addresses remaining organic growth.
The appropriate work depends on the roof material, condition and access. Include a photograph of the whole roof and any areas you are particularly concerned about. If you know of loose tiles, leaks or previous repairs, mention them when enquiring.
Cleaning is not a substitute for repairing a defective roof. Worn finishes, damaged tiles and existing leaks need to be considered before work is arranged. We do not clean asbestos roofing.
Tell us the type of roof if you know it, but do not climb up to identify it. Ground-level photographs and a description of the property are a useful starting point. Access around extensions, conservatories and neighbouring boundaries also affects the proposed work.
Gutter cleaning is included with our roof-cleaning service. Ask us to explain the included scope when we quote, particularly if your property has several extensions or separate gutter runs.
If you only need the gutters cleared, use our gutter cleaning service. Keeping the enquiry specific helps us quote for what your property actually needs.
The immediate result of moss removal is different from the ongoing effect of a treatment. The roof material, weather exposure and original condition all influence its finished appearance. Cleaning does not restore a worn tile coating or guarantee that organic growth will never return.
Discuss the expected result and any recommended follow-up when requesting your quotation. If you are preparing a property for photography, sale or occupation, tell us your timing so the work and your expectations can be considered together.
Roof size, complexity, pitch, height, moss coverage and access affect the quotation. A simple roof and a property with several extensions can involve quite different arrangements.
